The Growth of Philadelphia Life Sciences and Emergence

As we are all aware, the two-year mark of the coronavirus pandemic is approaching. The virus has changed the way we act upon things and how we jump to solve world-wide challenges. The losses of individuals have been heartbreaking, but Philadelphia has been a part of the transformation of considering new options in many aspects of business. 

Right here in Philadelphia, work has been conducted by research organizations, like the Wistar Institute that contributed to this world-wide collaboration. Highlighting the Philadelphia area, especially University City, there has been amazing growth of Life Sciences across North America. During the height of the pandemic, $70 billion of private and public capital poured into life science related companies in the United States. This resulted in a 93% increase in just one year. Now, Philadelphia is in the top five US markets when it comes to life science research and development, with over 1 million square feet in lab space currently under construction. This is all great news for our country and it’s happening right here in Philadelphia!
